- The first disadvantage that I found on Shopify is their customer service. In my own experience, having a basic plan and reaching out for help is not a good idea. I have emailed support a couple of times for help on a certain issue that I could not seem to resolve on my own and I never received a response.
- Another con with Shopify that’s isn’t as surprising is the fees. On top of a monthly plan, your sales are bound to be slashed for certain percentages depending on what plan you are currently subscribed to. If you are on a basic Shopify plan for $29 a month, there is a bigger percentage cut than if you are on a $79 plan or an advance plan of $299 dollars per month.
Shopify is beginner-friendly and you can have your online store up and running almost immediately. When it comes to payment solutions, it’s very easy to set up your bank account to your Shopify store in order to receive your payouts or you can also link your PayPal account and start receiving payments directly from your customers that are paying by PayPal.
Shopify is the best fit for you if you are trying to grow your own standalone e-commerce store rather than relying on marketplaces such as Etsy, Amazon or eBay.
